Arbutus is actually an evergreen tree that is broadleaved. This is a tree that is very common in the northern parts of the North American areas. The word Arbutus actually means “You are the only one Loves” and is basically a promise that what they have will not only be warm, but will last. With Arbutus, you are going to get a smaller tree or even a shrub. This tree actually has a bark that is red and flakes away easily. This plant also comes with a red berry that is edible. What will happen with the fruit, however, is that it will actually develop a few months after it is pollinated, so don’t expect to see berries on your Arbutus tree or shrub right away. This is a very green tree since it is an evergreen and no matter what time of year it is, you will always get the green of the tree and needles. The berries will come out once or twice a year and generally will reappear once every 5 months.
